Project Advocacy Coordinator

Global Intern

Project Advocacy Coordinator

RESULTS Educational Fund (REF), a nonprofit citizens' advocacy organization dedicated to generating the public and political will to end hunger and the worst aspects of poverty, is seeking a Country Advocacy Coordinator for the ACTION project to support two major international advocacy partnerships - on tuberculosis (TB) and childhood vaccines. ACTION began as an international partnership of advocates working to mobilize resources to treat and prevent the global spread of TB - the leading killer of people living with HIV- and expanded in 2011 to include a focus on improving the delivery of new and basic vaccines in countries with a high burden of vaccine-preventable deaths. The work of ACTION is centered on two underlying premises: that more rapid progress can be made against the global TB epidemic by building support for increased public sector funding for effective TB control among policymakers and opinion leaders in high TB burden countries and donor countries; and that increased political support and resources toward vaccines globally and at the national level present an opportunity to dramatically accelerate progress in reducing child mortality and morbidity at a relatively low cost, preventing roughly 2.5 million child deaths each year.

ACTION currently works in Australia, Brussels, Canada, France, India, Japan, Kenya, the U.K., and the U.S. and is seeking a country advocacy coordinator to support key pieces of both its TB and vaccines campaigns.
